Typography is always one of the design elements that I have an interest on. The power of using typography is incredible since it can convey your works in many different perspective. Chapter 5 is a reminder of me to re call how important Typography is. It's interesting that in this chapter, it reminds me that body text should be readable. I sometimes get overwhelmed to choose which typefaces should I use in my work, and forget that the most important thing is that choosing the typefaces that suit to each work not to choose the fancy nor sophisticated ones. It's also interesting when it mentions about the different feeling between Serif and Sans serif typefaces. Serif fonts provide the feeling of stable, classy, luxurious. We can see this kind of typeface in luxury brands like Gucci, Hermes, Louis Vuitton etc. On the other hand, Sans serif fonts give the feeling of modernity, trendy, informal. Sans serif typefaces can be founded in brands like Nike, Adidas, Microsoft etc.

In chapter 4, it talks about color. Color is, for me, the most important element of my works since choosing color can impact my works in every way. I've learned the use of color and theory of color from my previous classes and I found that it's very important to select the color that suits with the art work. From this chapter, I've learned one aspect that I rarely thought about it. It's color palette. We think about color palette that we're going to use in our works before anything since it can control the mood and tone of the work.

Chapter 3 that I read was all about Visual understanding. As I was reading through each session and learn about visual materials, I thought it’s really interesting to learn more about texture and pattern. It’s a must to understand visual materials since they can benefit our artwork in many ways. Texture and pattern are one of the most important elements to make artworks interesting and neat. I found that using different texture can give different feeling as well. In this article, they’re talking about how texture (physically) can efficiently convey art pieces.
